Cody Haddon continues his swift ascent in the UFC bantamweight division. On the preliminary card of UFC Macau, held at the Galaxy Arena, the Australian prospect overwhelmed hometown favorite Aoriqileng, achieving a brutal second-round TKO victory.
Haddon wasted no time in implementing his strategy. After an initial striking exchange, the 27-year-old secured a clinch and took the fight to the ground, immediately placing Aoriqileng on the defensive. He controlled a significant portion of the first round with relentless grappling and effective ground-and-pound.
Early in the second round, Aoriqileng attempted a guillotine choke, but Haddon calmly escaped and resumed his pressure. Once he established another clinch against the fence, Haddon began targeting the body with knees.
These body shots proved to be the decisive factor. Two powerful knees to the midsection caused Aoriqileng to collapse to the canvas, leading Haddon to swarm with punches until the referee intervened to stop the fight.
This victory improves Cody Haddon’s UFC record to 2-0, following his decision win against Dan Argueta in October 2024. It also extends the Dana White’s Contender Series standout’s overall winning streak to seven fights, bringing his professional record to 9-1.
