Machi Fukuda has earned a place in the Road to UFC Season 5 strawweight semifinals after securing a decisive second-round TKO victory against Anelya Toktogonova of Kyrgyzstan in Macau.
Despite a last-minute change to her opponent, Fukuda, also known as “Kakutou Komachi,” demonstrated immediate control from the start of the bout.
The former Deep Jewels champion quickly showcased the grappling prowess that has propelled her success in the Japanese mixed martial arts scene. While Fukuda found early success on her feet, her ability to dictate the fight’s location ultimately proved to be the key factor.
After dominating the first round, Fukuda immediately took the fight to the ground at the beginning of the second round. From the top position, she launched a relentless series of ground-and-pound attacks. Toktogonova was unable to create any space or defend effectively against Fukuda’s sustained offensive.
Unable to mount a defense against Machi Fukuda’s assault, the referee, Vitor Ribeiro, stopped the fight at 1:53 of the second round.
This win extends Machi Fukuda’s current winning streak to seven consecutive fights and brings her professional record to 11 wins and 2 losses. Seven of her victories have now come by way of stoppage. The 22-year-old fighter has not experienced a loss since a close split-decision defeat to Si Woo Park in May 2024.
