Preview Tom Aspinall Provides Injury Update, Confirms Comeback Plans

UFC heavyweight champion Tom Aspinall is on the mend and anticipates being cleared for contact training soon. His recovery from a double eye poke sustained during his title fight against Ciryl Gane at UFC 321 is progressing positively.

The bout with Gane, which resulted in a no-contest, necessitated double eye surgery for Aspinall. While he has returned to training, he has not yet received medical clearance for sparring.

During Aspinall’s absence, a bout for the interim 265-pound championship has been scheduled between Ciryl Gane and Alex Pereira for June 14. The winner of this fight is expected to face Aspinall in a title unification bout later in the year.
