UFC welterweight fighter Sean Brady is eager to prove his worthiness for a title opportunity after a significant victory at UFC 328.
Last weekend, Sean Brady delivered a convincing performance to defeat Joaquin Buckley, re-establishing himself as a top contender in the 170-pound division. Despite previous setbacks against notable opponents like Belal Muhammad and Michael Morales, Brady has consistently focused on recovery and improvement rather than dwelling on losses.
With another strong win added to his record, Sean Brady is now looking ahead to his next career move. At 33 years old and with a new wave of talented welterweights emerging, Brady believes he still has a valuable place in the division.
During his post-fight press conference, Sean Brady clearly articulated his ambition for a high-profile fight.
Sean Brady Discusses His Future Fights
“Everybody wants a title shot,” Brady stated to MMA Junkie at the UFC 328 post-fight news conference. “I’d fight (Kamaru) Usman because he’s a former champion. I think that would make sense. I heard he’s going up to middleweight. I’ve fought back. I beat Leon Edwards – I was the No. 1 contender. I fought Morales – I just fought back again.
“I deserve to fight up so, we’ll see how it plays out. I would love to fight in Philly, but it’s got to make sense for me, man. I’m 33 years old. I’m getting better and better every time I go out there, and I want to be a UFC champion, and I’m just trying to inch my way toward that.”
“I would fight Prates, 100 percent,” Brady confirmed. “I’ve asked for that fight before. Yeah, let’s do it.”
Brady has a reputation for not shying away from difficult challenges, regardless of how formidable his next opponent might appear. He understands the importance of maximizing each opportunity, and facing a fighter like Gilbert Burns would undoubtedly be a significant test of his current capabilities.
