Nepalese fighter Rabindra Dhant has taken a significant step towards securing a UFC contract, achieving a decisive victory over Kimbert Alintozon at Road to UFC in Macau.
During the first day of Road To UFC Season 5, Dhant demonstrated resilience in the initial round, before asserting complete control in the second. After initially weathering Alintozon’s pressure and movement, the Nepalese contender began to dictate the fight’s tempo through effective clinch work and physicality against the cage.
Once the bout transitioned to the ground, Rabindra Dhant maintained his dominance.
The 27-year-old skillfully transitioned to superior positions, advanced to mount, and unleashed a series of powerful punches that compelled the referee to stop the fight at 4:37 of the second round. This triumph advances Dhant to the bantamweight tournament semifinals and improves his professional record to 10-1.
This performance was particularly noteworthy given the challenging preparation leading up to the fight. Rabindra Dhant had spent the majority of his training camp preparing for a different opponent before a last-minute change saw Kimbert Alintozon step into the matchup.
Already a pioneer for MMA in Nepal, Dhant made history in 2023 as the first fighter from the country to compete in ONE Championship. He also holds a significant knockout win against India’s Chungreng Koren at Matrix Fight Night 17.
