Diaz appeared to struggle with his rhythm, timing, and distance throughout the bout, finding it difficult to mount an effective defense. In contrast, Mike Perry maintained relentless pressure and a high output, ultimately overpowering Nate Diaz. By the end of the second round, Diaz’s face was severely injured and bleeding heavily, leading his corner to make the decision to stop the fight.
Following the defeat, Diaz acknowledged that the bleeding impaired his vision and agreed with his team’s decision to halt the fight. He has since requested a rematch, stating his readiness to face “Platinum” again as soon as he has recovered.

Nate Diaz took to Instagram to thank Mike Perry for agreeing to the fight. Diaz attributed his less-than-stellar performance to inactivity but promised a formidable return, issuing a chilling warning to “Platinum.” He stated:
