Preview Nate Diaz Dismisses Retirement Talk Following TKO Loss to Mike Perry

Following his TKO defeat to Mike Perry at MVP MMA 1, Nate Diaz has addressed speculation about his retirement. The veteran fighter, who suffered a bloody setback in his return to MMA, has no intention of hanging up his gloves.

Diaz was overcome by BKFC fighter Mike Perry in a brutal two-round bout. The fight was a war of attrition for Diaz, whose facial scar tissue gave way, resulting in significant cuts around his eyes and face. After being knocked down by Perry, Diaz was visibly battered and covered in blood by the end of the second round, leading his corner to call for a stoppage.

Despite the harshness of the fight and his age (41), many fans urged Diaz to consider retirement. However, the Stockton native made it clear at the post-fight press conference that retirement is not on his horizon. He even expressed his willingness to face Perry again.

“I just fought the most violent mother f*cker right there,” Diaz stated. “Maybe next time I’ll run a little harder and I’ll get the job done. Maybe I don’t fight the most violent, maybe I fight the second most violent… The show goes on. I don’t have a check-out time. This sh*t’s forever.”

Mike Perry also seems eager for a rematch, viewing a second fight with Diaz as an opportunity for easy earnings.

The prospect of a rematch has already garnered attention from Jake Paul, who suggested potential locations for “Diaz vs. Perry 2” on social media, including the Bay Area or Sacramento.
