Undefeated fighter Muhammad Mokaev is scheduled to compete against Jorge Calvo in the co-main event of WOW 31, taking place on June 6, 2026, at the Madrid Arena in Spain. This bantamweight contest comes after Mokaev withdrew from a previously scheduled bout against Adriano Moraes at MVP MMA 1 on May 16.
WOW 31 marks a significant event for the promotion, as it returns to the Madrid Arena. The fight card also includes a lightweight title showdown between Brian Booi Hooi and Umakhan Ibragimov. WOW’s events are accessible via streaming on UFC Fight Pass, Movistar+, and YouTube.
Mokaev Joins WOW, a Promotion Supported by Ilia Topuria and Cristiano Ronaldo
Mokaev boasts an impressive professional record of 15 wins and 0 losses, with one no contest. He achieved a 7-0 record in the UFC’s flyweight division before his departure in 2024. Since leaving the UFC, Mokaev has secured victories, including a submission win over Joevincent So at BRAVE CF 91, a win against Thomas Assis at 971 FC 2, and capturing the inaugural BRAVE CF flyweight championship via knockout against Gerard Burns at BRAVE CF 100 in November 2025. Known by the nickname “The Punisher,” the Dagestani fighter, who is based in England, began his professional career in 2020, accumulating two knockouts and six submissions, and has a notable background in IMMAF competition.
Jorge Calvo, Mokaev’s opponent, enters the fight with a record of 20 wins and 7 losses, hailing from Costa Rica. His victories include nine submission finishes, with notable techniques like rear-naked chokes and armbars demonstrated in his earlier fights under Calvo Promotions. Calvo has secured wins against opponents such as Emilio Cuellar via split decision at Lux Fight League 21 in 2022 and Bruno Korea by unanimous decision at Titan FC 44. His defeats include a TKO loss to Alessandro Costa at Lux 13 and decision losses at Titan FC.
Ilia Topuria became a principal shareholder in WOW, or Way of Warrior FC, in August 2024 with the objective of fostering MMA’s growth in Spain. In November 2025, football superstar Cristiano Ronaldo joined as a key investor, expressing that the sport aligns with his core values of discipline and resilience. The Madrid-based organization, established in 2019, has organized over 30 events. Arturo Guillen, the executive chairman, believes Ronaldo’s involvement will accelerate the promotion’s expansion.
Following his undefeated streak, Mokaev is reportedly looking towards a potential return to the UFC. A victory in this upcoming bout would maintain his positive momentum, building upon his BRAVE championship win. For Calvo, this fight presents a significant opportunity to compete on home soil against a highly regarded prospect.
