Mauricio Ruffy achieved the most significant win of his professional career at UFC Freedom 250, decisively defeating Michael Chandler within the first round.
The fight began with both competitors landing strikes. However, Ruffy seized control near the midpoint of the initial round after landing a powerful spinning heel kick. Although Chandler attempted to defend, the impact caused him to lose his balance, allowing Ruffy to follow up with a devastating strike to the body against the octagon fence.
Chandler retreated and appeared to be focused on surviving the remainder of the round, with less than a minute left. Nevertheless, Ruffy had different intentions.
Ruffy then delivered another spinning heel kick, which sent ‘Iron’ to the canvas. A subsequent uppercut sealed the deal, prompting the referee to intervene and stop the contest. This marked the third consecutive knockout of the evening.
