Jiri Prochazka has strongly refuted any negative labels directed at him by Carlos Ulberg. Following his knockout loss to Ulberg in the main event of UFC 327, where Prochazka was vying for the light heavyweight title, Ulberg labeled him a “pretender.”
Prochazka, who admitted to feeling he showed “mercy” to an injured Ulberg earlier in the fight, a decision he believes contributed to his defeat, was unhappy with Ulberg’s subsequent dismissal of this claim. Ulberg told Ariel Helwani that Prochazka’s actions were not mercy but rather fear and hesitation.
In a direct response, Prochazka expressed his disdain for Ulberg’s comments, even referencing the New Zealander’s past work in the adult entertainment industry. “I don’t want to hear this bullshit from a stripper,” Prochazka stated during an appearance on The Ariel Helwani Show. He emphasized his commitment to being genuine in the cage.
Prochazka maintained that he accepts the loss without excuses and is focused on his future. “He’s the champion, he really caught me, I accept that. But all these things that he’s saying, that I played something… I wanna be rare, I want to be real, and that was just bullshit what he said, and I don’t have any excuses. I lost, I accept, and I’m really looking forward to being back at work.”
