Preview Conor McGregor Mocks Nate Diaz After Brutal Mike Perry Loss, Demands Trilogy Fight

Conor McGregor has sarcastically commented on his former UFC rival, Nate Diaz, after Diaz suffered a crushing TKO defeat against Mike Perry at MVP MMA 1. Diaz’s return to the MMA octagon after a four-year hiatus ended in a dominant performance by Perry, who left Diaz visibly battered and bruised over ten minutes of fighting.

The fight was stopped at the end of the second round due to a doctor’s stoppage, with Perry declared the winner by TKO, as Diaz’s corner decided he could not continue due to the extensive damage to his face.

Despite the loss, Diaz has indicated that he has no immediate plans for retirement and is eager for a rematch with Perry once he has recovered.

McGregor, who was once rumored to face Diaz for a third time in the UFC, has now taken aim at his former opponent. Diaz had previously stated his disinterest in fighting McGregor as his comeback bout, explaining that he felt it wasn’t the right time for their trilogy fight, especially as he perceived McGregor to be on his “last dying leg.”

Meanwhile, McGregor is scheduled to face Max Holloway at UFC 329. Following Diaz’s loss to Perry, McGregor took to X (formerly Twitter) to mock Diaz’s earlier refusal of a fight and reiterate his desire for a trilogy match, stating, “I see why @NateDiaz209 didn’t take the fight lol. Anyway here’s to when I get my hands on you, you lanky streak of piss. #TrilogyAndIGonnaNeedMyMoney.”
