Arman Tsarukyan's Daring Alligator Choke Attempt Ahead of Next UFC Booking
UFC fighter Arman Tsarukyan continues to grab headlines with his unique off-Octagon adventures, consistently pushing the boundaries of what's expected from an athlete.
While awaiting his next UFC booking, Tsarukyan has maintained an active schedule, though he has only competed once in the Octagon since his split decision victory against Charles Oliveira at UFC 300 in April 2024.
Initially slated to face then-lightweight champion Islam Makhachev at UFC 311 in January 2025, Tsarukyan withdrew due to an apparent injury during fight week. Since then, he has dedicated himself to the grappling circuit, participating in nine wrestling and submission bouts across various promotions worldwide.
Among his diverse pursuits, the 29-year-old Armenian also secured a submission win against Dan Hooker at UFC Qatar last November. Demonstrating his relentless activity, he has already competed four times outside the MMA promotion in just the first quarter of 2026 alone.
Beyond competitive engagements, Tsarukyan maintains a significant social media presence. He frequently shares extravagant food experiences and appears on various live streams, often alongside popular influencers, most notably Nina-Marie Daniele (aka Nina Drama), which has further amplified his public profile and led to several viral moments.
Tsarukyan recently elevated his reputation for daring exploits by attempting to apply a chokehold on an alligator, marking another entry in his series of memorable off-Octagon stunts.
Arman Tsarukyan Playfully Attempts to Submit an Alligator
Following his recent decision victory against former opponent Georgio Poullas in the main event of RAF 07, Arman Tsarukyan visited Everglades Holiday Park in Fort Lauderdale just two days later. There, he participated in a live stream alongside Nina Drama and KICK streamer N3ON.
During the broadcast, the UFC's No. 2-ranked lightweight entered an alligator enclosure, sat on the large reptile's back, and humorously inquired about the possibility of applying a rear-naked choke.
Despite assurances from park staff regarding safety, Tsarukyan prudently chose not to risk placing his arm near the alligator's powerful jaws. Instead, he playfully mimicked the choke for comedic effect. Trainers expertly managed the alligator while the MMA fighter comically pretended to ride it, adding to the entertainment.
Arman Tsarukyan is next scheduled to face former UFC veteran Urijah Faber in the co-main event of RAF 08 on April 18. This event is set to take place at the Liacouras Center at Temple University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
