Allen humorously recounted the moment he received the call for the upcoming spring fight during an interview. “I was literally eating fish and chips,” he shared. “My manager asked if I wanted to fight in nine weeks. I said I’d call him back in the morning after weighing myself, then agreed, ‘Yeah, I’ll make that happen.’ It’s great to be back, buzzing.”
Allen’s last appearance was at UFC 324 in January, where he suffered a close and controversial decision loss to fan-favorite Jean Silva. So yeah, I’m excited for the challenge. He’s another southpaw, which makes for a scrappy, somewhat awkward fight, but it’s definitely going to be a fight.”
