
The global boxing community is in mourning following the tragic death of Abu Yusupov.
Reports indicate that the Russian pugilist tragically succumbed to stab wounds in Berlin on Tuesday after an alleged dispute with several individuals.



German newspaper Tagesspiegel reported that the 39-year-old sustained a fatal knife wound to the neck during the confrontation at Gesundbrunnen train station.
Authorities reportedly attempted to revive the Chechen athlete at the scene before he was transported to a hospital by ambulance.
Despite medical efforts, the undefeated Yusupov sadly passed away from his injuries.
The news of Yusupov`s demise quickly spread, prompting a flood of condolences and tributes from boxing enthusiasts globally.
One fan expressed, “Rest in peace to a true fighter, both inside the ring and in everyday life. Your strength, courage, and camaraderie will forever be cherished. Though you are no longer with us, your spirit will continue to inspire us.”
Another simply offered, “Rest up.”
A third conveyed their sentiments with “RIP.”
A supporter shared, “We extend our deepest sympathy and condolences to his grieving family. Rest in Peace, Champion.”
Yet another wished, “May he rest in peace.”

The World Boxing Council (WBC) also issued a statement, expressing their sorrow: “The WBC mourns the passing of Abu Yusupov. The undefeated Chechen boxer, aged 39, with a professional record of 9-0-1, was tragically stabbed to death in Berlin, Germany. His last fight in January saw him secure a decision victory over Giorgi Kandelaki. Abu leaves behind his wife and three young children. His enduring narrative of determination and passion for boxing will forever be remembered in our sport. The entire WBC family, led by President Mauricio Sulaiman, extends its deepest condolences to Abu’s family and friends during this profoundly difficult period.”
Yusupov, who began his professional career in 2020, impressively secured a 39-second knockout victory over Benjamin Kunz in his debut.
He subsequently added eight more victories to his record, with six of these coming via stoppage.
His final professional appearance was in January, where he earned a decision win against Giorgi Kandelaki in a six-round contest.
Berlin law enforcement authorities are actively investigating the tragic circumstances surrounding Yusupov`s death.
