Tyson Fury recently announced that his eldest son, Prince John James, who is 13 years old, has officially “joined the family business.”

The “Gypsy King” isn`t the only member of his family with ties to boxing. His father, John, and uncle, Peter, are both former fighters who transitioned into coaching. His brothers, Tommy and Roman, remain undefeated in their careers, and his cousin, James Dean, is set to turn professional after a successful run as an amateur.

Now, there might be another fighter from the Fury clan to watch out for: Tyson`s 13-year-old son, John James.

In a video shared on his Instagram, Fury was seen talking to his son, telling him: “Today`s the day you become part of the family business, son.”

John James responded by asking, “What kind of business is that?”

His famous father, a parent of seven, replied definitively: “The f***ing fight game.”

Fury previously mentioned in 2023 that both John James (then 11) and his younger son (then 6) were training. He expressed his full support for their aspirations.

He stated at the time that they were “only young, kids having fun in the gym and all that,” but added, “If they want to pursue it as a career later on in life then I`m fully supportive.”

Fury emphasized his belief in not discouraging children`s dreams, reflecting on his own journey where others doubted his “unreachable dream.”

“I had an unreachable dream and everybody told me that it was a stupid idea… I didn`t believe any of them and I followed my dreams, followed my heart and here I am today,” he said, calling himself “living proof that dreams do come true” through hard work, dedication, the right mindset, and opportunity.

Now aged 36, Fury has plenty of time to dedicate to training his sons, having announced his retirement from professional boxing in January. This decision followed two points losses to Oleksandr Usyk in 2024.

Despite his busy training schedule, sometimes training multiple times a day, Fury recently reiterated his retirement status amidst ongoing rumors of a potential return to face Anthony Joshua.

While on holiday in Italy with his wife, Paris, he questioned the motive for a return: “What would I return for? More belts? I`ve won 22 of them.” He acknowledged the outcomes against Usyk, saying, “I`ve been rumped, that`s it, fair play to them, they got their use out of me.”

Concluding his statement on retirement, Fury emphasized his satisfaction with his career. “But I`m happy, I am happy, content with what I have achieved and accomplished.” He described his current state as “what retirement looks like for the Gypsy King, not too shabby.”
