Preview Tony Ferguson Amused by Israel Adesanya’s Goggins Training Puke

Tony Ferguson appears to be one of the few other mixed martial arts fighters who can truly understand the intense challenge Israel Adesanya faced earlier this month.

The former two-time UFC middleweight champion was photographed vomiting into a garbage can after participating in a training session led by the well-known fitness personality, ex-Navy Seal, and endurance record holder, David Goggins.

Interestingly, Tony Ferguson underwent his own version of `Hell Week` with Goggins in preparation for his bout against Paddy Pimblett at UFC 296 in December 2023.

`El Cucuy` successfully completed the grueling program, which is designed to push aspiring US Navy Seals to their limits. However, he also experienced vomiting during his time with Goggins, similar to what Israel Adesanya did during their recent session.

Ferguson Jokes About Hell Week Being “Easy”

Last week, Tony Ferguson posted footage on Instagram showing him skipping rope in a boxing gym. While working out, the former UFC interim lightweight champion commented on Adesanya`s training with Goggins and playfully suggested that his own `Hell Week` experience was “easy work.”

Speaking to someone off-camera, Ferguson remarked, “You see Goggins coaching Izzy? He has him puking, too.”

“Oh yeah. It’s good man. I think every fighter should go through that s—.”

“Maybe not a whole week. But damn, at least a session.”

He then added with a smirk, “By the way, that week with Chief Goggins, light-work, coach, light work.”

What`s Next for Tony Ferguson?

Tony Ferguson has not fought since suffering his eighth consecutive loss in the UFC in August 2024.

That defeat, a rear-naked choke against Michael Chiesa, seemingly marked the end of Ferguson`s career with the promotion where he spent 13 years.

Following his departure from the UFC, the American fighter signed with GFL and was scheduled for a fight against Dillon Danis.

However, in April, GFL cancelled its initial two planned events, leaving the status of the Ferguson vs. Danis fight uncertain.

Both Ferguson and Danis stated the fight was still on after the cancellations were announced, but more than a month later, there has been no official update on when or where their potential bout will take place.
