UFC sensation Sean O’Malley recently disclosed his preferred opponent for a highly anticipated crossover boxing match, alongside the substantial financial reward he would expect for such an event.

Discussions have been circulating heavily in recent weeks regarding the potential convergence of mixed martial arts (MMA) and boxing through major “super fights.” While calls from figures like Ilia Topuria for a bout against Terence Crawford have largely met with skepticism from fans and fellow fighters, O’Malley is another prominent UFC personality keen on exploring this avenue at some point.

Although O’Malley is currently focused on an upcoming UFC event, he was recently questioned about the possibility of stepping into a boxing ring.

Sean O’Malley Considers $5 Million Offer to Box Gervonta Davis

This isn`t the first time Sean O’Malley has discussed battling a boxing superstar; he previously challenged Devin Haney to an MMA fight, a proposal that seemed highly improbable. Haney later mocked O’Malley following his submission defeat to Merab Dvalishvili at UFC 316 earlier this year.

However, neither `The Dream` (Devin Haney) nor Ryan Garcia, who was mentioned as a potential opponent during O`Malley`s recent podcast with coach Tim Welch, is O’Malley’s top choice. Instead, the former UFC bantamweight champion outlined the financial incentive that would draw him to such a contest, then named Jake Paul’s upcoming opponent as his desired adversary.

“I mean, honestly, if there was just a fast a– payday, 100%. I’m thinking like $10 million but then I’m like, if they said five, I’d be like yeah. I don’t know, it’s hard to say. It would be a tough f—— fight. I’d rather fight Gervonta Davis.”

O’Malley has previously expressed interest in facing Gervonta Davis, even calling out the formidable knockout artist during his tenure as a UFC champion. `Suga` acknowledged that a fight against Davis would be incredibly challenging but believes his fighting style would be better suited for an opponent like `Tank`.

Sean O’Malley’s Potential UFC Return Against a Top Contender

In other news, Sean O’Malley recently addressed rumors in a YouTube video concerning his return to the Octagon. Reports had circulated that `Suga` was in discussions to fight Song Yadong later this year, though O’Malley clarified that no official talks have taken place yet.

Despite the lack of formal discussions, O’Malley conveyed his enthusiasm for the potential matchup, suggesting it could indeed materialize.

“Song seems like a great next opponent, though. It makes sense. I like the matchup. It seems good.”

“As far as a date goes, December, January, February, f—ing November, I’m ready to go. I’m ready to go. Call me next week, and I’ll probably say that’s too short notice. But I do like the match, it makes sense.”

He further affirmed his readiness:

“I’m healthy. I’m feeling good. I’m training like a motherf—er. Again, I like that matchup. Me vs. Song, if that’s what’s next, hell yeah!”
