Movsar Evloev has responded to recent remarks made by Jean Silva. Last weekend, “Lord” asserted that he was scheduled to face two-time UFC featherweight champion Alexander Volkanovski next. He also claimed that UFC executives Hunter Campbell and Dana White had invited him to UFC London to sign the contract following the event. During UFC London, Silva was indeed observed handing documents to Campbell.
Meanwhile, top-ranked UFC featherweight contender Movsar Evloev bolstered his own bid for a title opportunity with a majority decision victory over Lerone Murphy this past Saturday. In the post-fight press conference, when asked about Silva’s audacious claims, the undefeated Russian stated simply, “He [Jean Silva] is just lying.”
MMA Manager Commends Movsar Evloev
Before UFC London, Movsar Evloev’s manager, Ali Abdelaziz, had emphasized that Evloev needed a definitive finish against Lerone Murphy to secure an immediate title shot. Although Evloev did not achieve a knockout or submission, he delivered an engaging performance. He notably deviated from his customary wrestling-heavy strategy, opting instead to exchange blows with the potent striker Murphy for much of the 25-minute bout.
Earlier today on X, Abdelaziz lauded Evloev’s efforts, adding that the promotion was highly satisfied with his latest display. “The game has changed for all young fighters,” Abdelaziz remarked. “Winning alone is not enough anymore. It’s about how you fight, how you make a statement, and how you show that you are a complete fighter. That’s exactly what Movsar did on Saturday night. One thing I can tell you is that everyone is happy. The UFC is happy, and they’ve been very complimentary about his performance for the first time, and I’m very grateful.”
