Prominent fighter Colby Covington has shed light on the challenging negotiation process within the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC). According to him, athletes have virtually no leverage to influence the terms of their contracts and fights. Covington asserts that the UFC wields absolute power and can easily “freeze out” any fighter who attempts to stand up for their interests or disagrees with the proposed terms. This implies that the promotion will simply cease to offer new fights to such athletes, effectively sidelining them from competitions and, consequently, from earning a living, until they concede to the organization’s demands.
