UFC Hall of Famer Khabib Nurmagomedov has readily offered his assistance to former Manchester United soccer star Patrice Evra as he prepares for his mixed martial arts debut in the PFL on May 23.
Evra recently announced his intention to compete in MMA and subsequently reached out to Nurmagomedov. He clarified that his foray into fighting is not merely for attention but a serious commitment. The 43-year-old former French international emphasized his dedication, telling Nurmagomedov, “I need to train. I need to take it seriously. You know how much respect I have for you, for the sport so that’s why I really need to have a training session with you. Because I want to know from the best.”
Nurmagomedov, a known soccer enthusiast, reaffirmed his willingness to help Evra, particularly since both are currently in Dubai. He responded to Evra`s request enthusiastically, stating, “I told you many times, send me location and I’m going to find you. Send location, tell me where are you? When I see you, you have to be ready and that’s it. Other things, I’m going to take care of. I’m going to teach you how to smash people.”
Nurmagomedov is widely recognized as one of the top coaches in the MMA world, having guided numerous champions, including UFC lightweight champion Islam Makhachev and PFL lightweight champion Usman Nurmagomedov.
Since retiring from active competition, Nurmagomedov has primarily focused on coaching. He is renowned for his demanding training methods and his dedication to maximizing his fighters` potential. It seems he is ready to potentially add Evra to his training group whenever their schedules align.
Underscoring his motivation, Nurmagomedov added, “I just want you to improve yourself. Nothing else. [It’s] very good to see you and finally I hope you’re going to send me location and then we will train together.”
Evra`s PFL debut is scheduled for May 23rd at the Accor Arena in Paris, France.
