British boxer Josh Kelly has publicly challenged potential rivals Conor Benn and Chris Eubank Jr.

Eubank previously defeated Benn in a highly anticipated “second generation” fight in April, which went the full 12 rounds.

Although Benn and Eubank have a rematch clause, Eubank faced health issues after their last bout, requiring hospitalization for two days due to severe dehydration. He struggled significantly with the 160lb middleweight limit, missing it slightly and incurring a large fine, in addition to a rehydration clause.

Conor Benn also had to move up considerably in weight, stepping up over a stone from his usual 147lb fighting weight.

Now campaigning at 154lb in the super-welterweight division, Kelly sees opportunities with both fighters. He is open to Benn moving up to his weight class or for him to step up in weight to face Eubank.

Speaking to Sky Sports, Kelly expressed strong confidence in his abilities against either opponent. “I’d probably knock Conor Benn out, if not totally outbox him,” he stated. Regarding Eubank, he added, “I believe I’d totally stand Eubank on his head.”

Kelly feels a fight with Benn is more likely. “I don’t think Eubank would go anywhere near me,” he commented. “I think I’ve got more of a chance getting the Conor Benn fight. If he can’t make 147 anymore, or struggles to get down there, I’m the biggest guy at 154.”

He is even prepared to meet Benn at a catchweight of 157lb, saying he would agree “In a heartbeat. It wouldn’t even be a question. It would just be like, ‘Yes, sign, done.’”

Kelly, 31, has an upcoming fight in Newcastle against Flavius Biea but is clearly targeting lucrative bouts against opponents like the 28-year-old Benn.

He acknowledged Benn`s promotional savvy, saying, “Conor’s a very clever fighter in terms of marketing. I should take a leaf out of his book. I should start shouting everybody out.”

Ultimately, Kelly`s focus is on significant fights. He concluded, “I should just say, ‘I’m only fighting the ones who are going to make me the most money’.”
