During a recent boxing event held in Australia, Jai Opetaia (28-0, 22 KOs) successfully retained his IBF and The Ring magazine cruiserweight titles. He achieved this by stopping the previously undefeated Italian contender, Claudio Squeo (17-1, 9 KOs), in the fifth round.

The bout nearly concluded prematurely in the fourth round when Opetaia sent his opponent to the canvas with a powerful blow to the solar plexus. However, the referee controversially ruled the punch a low blow, allowing Squeo to continue the fight.

This impressive victory marks Opetaia`s second fight of the year. The champion has publicly expressed his ambition to unify the cruiserweight division titles and is eyeing a potential future clash with the winner of the upcoming WBA and WBO championship unification bout between Gilberto Ramirez and Yuniel Dorticos.
