Paddy Pimblett has made quite a few rivals in the UFC.
Since joining the premier MMA promotion after winning a title in Cage Warriors, Pimblett has consistently generated controversy and attention.
`The Baddy` is undefeated in the UFC across his seven fights, and the Liverpudlian`s performances and comments have led to numerous feuds.
From a near physical altercation with Ilia Topuria to verbal exchanges with fighters like Renato Moicano, several potential future matchups have arisen from these conflicts.
Currently, the most discussed rivalry is with the top contender in the lightweight division, Arman Tsarukyan, who hasn`t hidden his dislike for Pimblett.
Chael Sonnen Disputes Arman Tsarukyan`s Claims About Paddy Pimblett
The verbal conflict between Pimblett and Arman Tsarukyan intensified following Pimblett`s decisive win over Michael Chandler at UFC 314 in April. This prompted Tsarukyan to publicly challenge `The Baddy` to a fight this year. However, Pimblett dismissed the challenge, indicating his focus is on a potential October bout with Justin Gaethje.
Tsarukyan, clearly irritated by the rejection, strongly criticized Pimblett, alleging the UFC has given him preferential treatment and “handouts.”
Former UFC title contender Chael Sonnen strongly disputed the legitimacy of Tsarukyan`s accusation.
Sonnen commented, “I`ve heard others say similar things about Paddy, but is it true? No, it`s not.”
He elaborated, “Paddy hasn`t received more title shots or main events than expected for his career stage… He hasn`t fought more champions than others would without special favors or shortcuts.”
Sonnen pointed out, “In fact, Paddy has never competed for a world title. He`s never even been the main event,” adding, “From that perspective… He isn`t attempting to bypass the typical progression.”
Paddy Pimblett Replies to Arman Tsarukyan
Although Sonnen supports Pimblett, the rising lightweight is well-known for engaging in verbal conflicts.
Unsurprisingly, Pimblett quickly issued his own response to Tsarukyan.
Using X (formerly Twitter), `The Baddy` retaliated against the top-ranked contender, labelling him a “rich boy” who allegedly received everything effortlessly due to his father`s wealth.
I got given nothing, I worked for everything I’ve ever had in me life! Unlike you rich boy who’s dad has handed him everything on a silver platter you little div!

This comment from Pimblett refers to Tsarukyan`s affluent family background, which the Armenian fighter has previously spoken about publicly since gaining recognition in the UFC.
