Holly Holm has indicated she will be watching Ronda Rousey`s forthcoming biographical film, if only to verify its fidelity to real events.

The two legendary fighters had a memorable and intense clash in 2015, an event nearing its tenth anniversary. Holm secured a dramatic win via a knockout, a moment that instantly propelled her to global recognition and significantly altered the trajectory of Rousey`s UFC career.

Renewed public interest in the former UFC champion follows the recent announcement that a biopic based on Rousey`s life is scheduled for release on Netflix. Holm humorously expressed doubt about whether she would receive an invitation to the premiere or have an actress cast to depict her role in the story.

Holly Holm Reflects on the Landmark Fight Ahead of Film Release

It`s challenging to recall now, but throughout 2014 and 2015, Ronda Rousey appeared nearly invincible as she rapidly rose to become one of the UFC`s biggest stars. At that time, there were even widespread discussions about whether she could realistically compete in a cross-gender exhibition match against Floyd Mayweather.

However, that era of perceived invincibility ended abruptly when Holly Holm arrived in Melbourne and defeated her with a head kick that sent shockwaves across the globe. While Rousey rarely speaks publicly about that particular night or even mentions Holm by name, the dynamic between them often appears to be a lingering, one-sided tension.

“I`ve never had an issue,” Holm told reporters, including Bloody Elbow, recently during an open workout in California ahead of her boxing comeback fight on a Jake Paul event. “It was a competition; it`s you against them.”

“If the outcome had been reversed, she would have done the same to me, and that`s simply the reality of the sport. I hold respect for everyone I`ve ever faced in the ring or octagon, although I`ve never had a personal conversation with her outside of the fight context. I wish her happiness.”

“I hope she is content with her family life. If I were to sit down and talk with her, I would have absolutely no problem doing so. I`m unsure if she feels the same way, but I personally hold no ill will.”

Holm`s Amusing Reaction to the Rousey Biopic News

Despite being a pivotal figure in a significant moment of Rousey`s professional life, it seems improbable that Holm will have a substantial role in the film, which is set to be directed by Augustine Frizzell, known for directing the first episode of `Euphoria`. Frizzell is tasked with dramatizing this remarkable story from the world of combat sports.

Indeed, the former champion (Rousey) has historically been reticent to acknowledge her defeat without offering some form of explanation or caveat. When Bloody Elbow asked Holm who she might like to see play her in the movie, Holm responded with a playful and telling quip: “Is she even planning to include me in it?”

Holm later confirmed that she would likely watch the film, even if her primary reason was to ensure that her portrayal, should one exist, is fair and accurate. “I`m certain I`ll watch it,” she affirmed. “I`ll need to see how things are presented.”

“When a film covers a significant part of someone`s life, you naturally wonder how much detail about certain crucial events will be included. Ultimately, it`s her movie, her story… but if it contains inaccuracies, I will definitely point them out publicly!”
