After his recent defeat in the Octagon, many UFC fans feel they have seen enough of Calvin Kattar`s fighting career.
At UFC Nashville, the former featherweight contender suffered his fifth loss in a row.
Steve Garcia secured a dominant decision victory on Saturday night, winning every round on all judges` scorecards.
Kattar`s performance was a source of significant concern for fight fans, leading many to plead with him on social media to retire.

Fans Call for Calvin Kattar`s Retirement
In his prime, Kattar defeated notable contenders such as Ricardo Lamas, Jeremy Stephens, and Dan Ige.
Known as `The Boston Finisher`, he even pushed the highly-rated Max Holloway to five rounds in a memorable fight in January 2021, during Holloway`s peak performance.
However, since that fight, Kattar has secured only one victory and is now on a five-fight losing streak, a skid that raises questions about his future in the UFC.
Regardless of any potential decision by UFC President Dana White, fans widely believe it is time for Kattar to end his mixed martial arts career.
Social media was flooded with comments from fans. One user called the performance “Pathetic stuff” and added “Time to retire.” Another simply stated, “Kattar needs to retire.” A third fan expressed their view more strongly: “Calvin Kattar needs to retire immediately, this is just getting pathetic at this point.” Comments like “Kattar needs to retire, he is devastatingly washed,” and “Kattar is just a UFC punching bag now. Please retire,” were common. Another commenter recalled, “Time to hang it up, prime Kattar was a machine,” suggesting his best days are behind him.
Analysis of Calvin Kattar`s Recent Losses
Kattar`s difficult period began in June 2022 with a close split decision loss against Josh Emmett.
That five-round contest was awarded `Fight of the Night` and was considered a very close bout that could have favored either fighter, leading some to view Kattar`s loss as unfortunate.
His subsequent loss four months later against Arnold Allen also had circumstances attached.
In that fight, Kattar suffered a second-round TKO defeat after sustaining an ACL injury during the bout in October 2022.
Following an 18-month recovery from the injury, the 37-year-old made his return at UFC 300 in April 2024 against former bantamweight champion Aljamain Sterling, who secured a clear decision victory over three rounds.
Youssef Zalal then earned a straightforward win against Kattar in February, extending the popular fighter`s losing streak to four fights.
By adding the fifth consecutive loss to this undesirable streak, Steve Garcia`s victory has made it highly likely that Kattar`s time in the UFC is coming to an end. The MMA community now awaits official word from Kattar himself or the promotion regarding his future.
