Dominick Reyes has revealed his preferred opponent between Alex Pereira and Magomed Ankalaev following UFC 320. The highly anticipated light heavyweight title rematch between champion Magomed Ankalaev and challenger Alex Pereira is set for UFC 320 on October 4 in Las Vegas. Pereira aims to reclaim the belt after losing it to Ankalaev by unanimous decision at UFC 313 in March.

Before this pivotal title clash, Dominick Reyes, who has previously contended for the championship twice against Jon Jones and Jan Blachowicz, will participate in a crucial contender bout against Carlos Ulberg at UFC Perth this weekend. A victory could pave the way for Reyes` third opportunity at UFC gold.
Reyes Prefers Magomed Ankalaev Over Alex Pereira at UFC 320
In an interview on “The Brian Campbell Experience,” Reyes admitted his preference to face Ankalaev rather than Pereira. “I did a full camp with him [before UFC 281 in 2022]. He`s my friend, so I`d rather not fight my people,” Reyes explained, though he acknowledged it`s a “double-edged sword” because an Ankalaev win means Pereira wouldn`t hold the title.
“But just for the mere fact that I’d rather fight somebody who isn’t my friend, I mean, that’s why I would prefer Ankalaev to win…,” Reyes added, emphasizing his personal connection with Pereira.
Dominick Reyes’ Comeback Tour Continues at UFC Perth
Dominick Reyes` career is currently undergoing a remarkable resurgence. After a controversial decision loss to Jon Jones in 2020, he endured a challenging period with three consecutive knockout defeats. However, Reyes has impressively turned his career around, securing three straight knockout victories over Dustin Jacoby, Anthony Smith, and Nikita Krylov.
He now has the chance to extend this winning streak to four when he takes on the #3-ranked Carlos Ulberg in the five-round main event of UFC Perth. Ulberg, who defeated former champion Jan Blachowicz in March, is currently on an impressive eight-fight winning streak.
