Preview Derrick Lewis Comes In At Lowest Weight In 11 Years Ahead Of 520lb UFC Nashville Main Event

Derrick Lewis is set to compete at UFC Nashville significantly lighter than he has been in over a decade.

Known as `The Black Beast`, Lewis last competed in May 2024, securing a victory against Rodrigo Nascimento via flying knee and punches.

Since that fight, it seems Lewis has been focusing on managing his weight, perhaps aiming away from the typical heavyweight maximum.

Lewis, who holds the UFC record with 15 knockouts, typically needs to cut weight to reach the 266lb limit. However, for his upcoming bout against Tallison Teixeira at UFC Nashville on Saturday, cutting wasn`t required.

Derrick Lewis Reaches Lowest Weight Since 2014

During Friday morning`s UFC Nashville weigh-ins, Lewis was among the first to step onto the scale.

The 40-year-old surprised observers by weighing in at 261 lbs, marking his lowest weight in 11 years.

His lowest weight ever in the UFC was 256 lbs for his debut in April 2014. Since then, his lowest recorded weight for a fight was 261.5 lbs before facing Ilir Latifi in February 2020.

Teixeira, notable for being one of the tallest fighters in UFC history at 6ft 7in, weighed in at 259 lbs, slightly less than Lewis.

The combined weight of Lewis and Teixeira will be 520 lbs when they compete tomorrow night at the Bridgestone Arena.
