Boxer Derek Chisora encountered an awkward situation when a woman turned down his invitation for dinner while they were being filmed at an event.
The well-known fighter, aged 41, who recently earned his 36th career win against Otto Wallin in February and has hinted his next fight will be his last, received a polite refusal after posing for photos with the fan.
Chisora, wearing a cowboy hat, posed alongside the woman for several pictures witnessed by onlookers.
However, the moment became uncomfortable shortly after, when Chisora, known as `Del Boy`, made his dinner proposal.
He initially asked, “How are you?”, to which she replied: “Good, thanks.”
Chisora then straightforwardly asked: “When are we going to grab dinner?”
The woman reacted with surprise, stating: “Woah. Don’t be coming at me like that.”
Remaining unfazed, Chisora lightheartedly questioned: “Don’t you like dinner?”
Her response was clear: “I like dinner… on my own.”
Fans online reacted to the clip of the uncomfortable exchange.
One social media user commented: “He just asked her out basically and she thought that was somehow crossing the line?”
Another user questioned: “How should a man ask a woman if they’re going to grab dinner or not?”
An observation from another fan noted: “She grabbed him like he was her boyfriend and got upset about grabbing dinner with him.”
A supportive comment read: “Derek shooting his shot, can’t blame the lad.”
