Boxer Derek Chisora has received a significant challenge: a £50,000 bet related to Ty Mitchell`s upcoming Misfits Boxing match against Idris Virgo.
Mitchell, known as a close friend of Tyson Fury (Chisora`s former opponent), is set to face reality TV personality and boxer Idris Virgo, who gained fame on Love Island, this Friday in Derby.

Interestingly, Chisora and professional boxer Virgo are training partners at the London Shootfighters gym located in North West London.
In a video message, Chisora, aged 41, expressed strong support for his training partner, stating:
Ty Mitchell, my boy`s going to smoke you out. He`s going to smoke you out. My guy`s going to smoke you out. Let`s go champ! Let`s go champ!
Mitchell, 34, quickly responded to Chisora`s confident remarks by issuing a direct challenge:
My old boy, Derek. Listen, you don`t believe that, man. You know you don`t believe it. Listen, if you believe he`s going to beat me, put a wager on it then. Ten grand, 20 grand, 30 grand, 50 grand? You let me know what you want to bet if you think your boy is going to beat me. I know you`ve got a lot of money because you made a lot when my boy Tyson spanked you. So listen, let`s see if you really think he`s going to beat me. Name the price and I`ll match it.
Following this public exchange, the two boxers had a smiling FaceTime call. Mitchell later shared a screenshot, captioning it: “Don't let Insta fool you he's a marketing genius.”
Mitchell`s professional boxing career began in 2010, where he accumulated a 3-2 record before facing imprisonment for manslaughter.
In 2011, he received a seven-year sentence after fatally punching 19-year-old student Jagdip Randhawa.
Upon his release, Mitchell was denied a professional license by the British Boxing Board of Control, leading him to compete on the unlicensed circuit.
Last year, Mitchell was signed by Misfits Boxing, the promotion known for its celebrity and crossover bouts, headed by KSI. He secured a victory in his Misfits debut against Tommy Hench.
Idris Virgo, conversely, had already competed in 12 professional boxing matches, with one draw, before joining Misfits after his appearance on the reality show Love Island in 2018.
Since joining Misfits, Virgo has won four fights, including victories over prominent figures like MMA star Anthony Taylor, Geordie Shore`s Aaron Chalmers, and former UFC champion Benson Henderson.
Virgo, who recently celebrated the birth of his first child (a son) and is known as KSI`s sparring partner, also reportedly turned down an offer to return to Love Island to focus on his upcoming fight with Mitchell.
Speaking about his decision, Virgo explained that he declined the opportunity to appear on the show again to prioritize his training for the bout. He acknowledged that it was a tough choice, recognizing Love Island`s role in his career path, but emphasized the need for sacrifice to train effectively for the upcoming fight.
