Given these financial considerations, the UFC is reportedly disinclined to feature its biggest star, Conor McGregor, on a card that generates no revenue. While “The Notorious” was eager to compete on the South Lawn, sources like Helwani suggest the chances of this happening on June 14 are slim, as the promotion would prefer to utilize McGregor’s drawing power for an event where they can maximize earnings.
However, there’s positive news for fans: McGregor is now expected to fight during the UFC International Fight Week card, scheduled for July 11. Helwani commented:
“It doesn’t look like it’s gonna be Conor on the White House card. They have an International Fight Week card scheduled for July 11… There’s a greater chance of him fighting on that card than on the White House card. There’s no money to be made from the White House event.”
With only two fights remaining on his current UFC contract, it would be a strategic move for Dana White and the UFC to deploy McGregor’s star power at International Fight Week, ensuring maximum revenue generation for the company.
