UFC superstar Conor McGregor recounted a humorous incident where the Paul brothers’ apparent unity quickly dissolved after their first encounter, which took place during a trip to President Trump`s Inauguration. Following years of back-and-forth insults and intense discussions about a potential bout between McGregor and Logan Paul in India, the three men finally crossed paths while en route to the White House.

While the subsequent viral video showed the brothers taking shots at the UFC icon, McGregor revealed the real drama occurred when the cameras stopped rolling. He claims that once the filming ceased—which was managed by their mother, Pam Stepnick—the brothers immediately began feuding over who actually owned the rights to the exclusive footage.

The Battle Over Content Ownership

During an exclusive conversation at his Dublin pub, The Black Forge Inn, McGregor detailed the circumstances of the meeting. They were all required to leave their extensive security details behind to board a bus headed to the Presidential Inauguration. It was on this bus that the unexpected meeting occurred.

Jake Paul had long pursued a fight with McGregor, but at the time, Logan was actually closer to finalizing a major match-up, which McGregor felt Logan allowed to slip away by not actively pursuing it.

McGregor noted that the moment they were out of the public eye, their focus shifted entirely from the UFC champion to their business rivalry over the captured video.

“It was fascinating because they’re doing it all on phones, right? These are content creators these young men, they’re YouTube guys. So when I get in I’m just rocking around not thinking of anything.”

“So I show up and straight away they’re like ‘get the camera’ and it was their mother – who I actually thought was lovely, a good woman – who had the phone. So she’s doing her thing and we’re talking and what not.”

“Then we get on the bus and the two brothers start going at each other over whose footage it is! So whose footage is it? Is it Logan’s or is it Jake’s? I just thought it was funny. I suppose because there’s revenue in that, that’s their whole little world.”

McGregor’s Future: Glory over `Nixers`

McGregor also confirmed that he had previously been working on a significant financial arrangement with India’s wealthy Ambani family to organize a fight against Logan Paul. While Jake is generally seen as the more active boxer, a fight with Logan was considered the more strategic match given his history and perceived lesser boxing skills.

McGregor believes these “YouTuber fights” (which he calls `nixers` or side projects) will still materialize eventually, but his immediate focus is returning to the octagon to pursue a third championship belt at the welterweight division.

“I had a sweet deal there,” McGregor stated. “Look, them YouTuber fights will come. I’m coming back for glory, for the gold belt, for the triple crown. That’s what I’m after. So all these other nixers? Look at Mike Tyson, look how fresh he looks, he’s an inspiration to me.”
