Colby Covington is prepared to face Bo Nickal if it means securing a coveted spot on the UFC event scheduled for the White House on June 14, 2026. As a staunch supporter of Donald Trump, Covington has expressed an intense desire to participate in this unique card.
Despite holding a position in the welterweight rankings, Covington has not registered a win in over three years. He had previously expressed interest in fighting Paddy Pimblett, but “The Baddy” showed no interest in the matchup.
Covington’s relationship with Bo Nickal became strained following a heated verbal exchange at a press conference. Nickal subsequently challenged Covington to an octagon showdown to make him accountable for his words. While Covington initially dismissed Nickal’s provocations, he is now open to the idea given the upcoming White House event.
In a recent interview with MMA Fighting, Covington assessed his chances of fighting at the event as 50/50. He affirmed his readiness to fight anyone the UFC puts forward, prioritizing participation on the historic White House card above all else.
Regarding a potential bout with Bo Nickal, Covington stated he would accept it if no other opportunities arise. He voiced strong doubts about Nickal’s fighting prowess, suggesting Nickal lacks the ability to take him down, fears striking, and possesses a fragile physique. Covington clarified that his ultimate goal is to fight at the White House, and he is willing to move up to middleweight (185 pounds) to fight Nickal if necessary to achieve that.
Nevertheless, Covington reiterated his preference for a significant fight in the welterweight division (170 pounds), where he once held a world championship.
