A boxer experienced a terrifying electric shock shortly after securing a victory at a “Weed Boxing” event held in Thailand. The unusual incident happened to Ivan Parshikov, a former ONE Championship fighter, while he was celebrating his win.

The 29-year-old Russian fighter had improved his professional record to 16-5-0, but his moment of triumph was abruptly interrupted. Parshikov scaled the ropes, seemingly intending to leap into the pool that unusually bordered the ring. However, upon reaching for a light positioned near the ringside, he received an electric shock.

His body became completely rigid before he collapsed back onto the ring floor.

Luckily, he recovered swiftly, managing to stand up and proceed with his planned celebratory jump into the pool. This quick recovery contradicts some social media reports that he was `electrocuted` (a term implying death or severe injury). He later received medical evaluation and was cleared.

Parshikov himself seems to view the event with some humor, as he shared a video of it on Instagram.

The video clip startled many fans, who filled the comments section with their reactions. One user wrote, “Omg you`re lucky you`re alive bro.” Another commenter asked, “Is there a new battle nickname now `Charged`?” A third observed, “He won in the ring, but came out of the ring as a loser.” A fourth person joked, “He`s a power bank, charged for the whole evening.” Yet another remarked, “That fight was shocking.”

He later posted another video showing himself undergoing electrotherapy using a TENS machine.

The rules of the event might have affected judgment, as the “Weed Boxing” concept, previously promoted by boxing icon Mike Tyson, reportedly requires participants to consume cannabis before competing.
