Patrick Habirora, "The Belgian Bomber," Set to Clash with Former UFC Champion Benson Henderson at PFL Brussels
In May, Patrick Habirora will defend his perfect professional record in the main event of PFL Brussels, facing what is anticipated to be his toughest opponent to date.
Habirora stands out as a top European talent outside the UFC, quickly becoming a prominent figure for the PFL, especially across Europe. The formidable Belgian boasts an undefeated streak of eight professional fights, featuring seven knockouts and a single decision victory. His 2025 debut year in the PFL was remarkable. That July, he headlined the PFL Europe event in his native country, dominating seasoned UFC veteran Danny Roberts with a brutal first-round TKO in front of a vibrant crowd in Brussels.
Later that year, he ventured to PFL Lyon, where he faced another former UFC fighter, Kevin Jousset, who trains at the renowned City Kickboxing Gym and was making his PFL debut in his home country of France. Jousset met the same swift defeat as Danny Roberts, with Habirora securing another first-round victory. This May, Habirora will once again face a former UFC competitor, but this opponent's pedigree significantly surpasses any challenge he has encountered previously.
Patrick Habirora vs. Benson Henderson: A Clash of Generations
Former UFC Lightweight champion Benson Henderson is set to make his return to MMA at PFL Brussels in May, challenging the rising star Habirora. The 42-year-old veteran held the UFC lightweight title from February 2012 to August 2013, successfully defending it three times before relinquishing the belt to Anthony Pettis at UFC 164.
Henderson departed the UFC in 2015 after fulfilling his contract, subsequently joining Bellator in early 2016. His time with Bellator, however, proved less dominant than his UFC run, concluding with a 7-7 record, his last defeat coming against Usman Nurmagomedov. Since his departure from Bellator, Henderson has remained active in various combat sports, including wrestling and karate, with his most recent appearance at RAF O6 this past weekend.
To overcome "The Belgian Bomber" in Brussels this May, Henderson will need to draw upon his extensive skills and experience.
