Jiri Prochazka Reveals Strategy for Carlos Ulberg at UFC 327 Title Fight
Jiri Prochazka, preparing to headline UFC 327, has shared his strategic insights for his highly anticipated championship showdown against Carlos Ulberg.
The main event of UFC 327 will see Prochazka compete for the newly vacant UFC light heavyweight title. This belt became available after Alex Pereira opted to relinquish it, with strong indications that ‘Poatan’ is planning a move to the heavyweight division to pursue a third world championship within the UFC.
Prochazka enters this pivotal title opportunity on the strength of two significant victories, leading many observers to believe he is well-positioned to claim his second world title in the promotion. Carlos Ulberg, while having faced some defeats, has largely been on an upward trajectory towards a title shot since joining the UFC roster.
In a recent interview, Jiri Prochazka candidly discussed both Alex Pereira's decision and his detailed game plan for Carlos Ulberg.
Jiri Prochazka Prepares for Carlos Ulberg Clash
Addressing Pereira’s choice to vacate the belt, Prochazka expressed no surprise, describing it as a "gentlemanly" act and a "normal" occurrence when a fighter ascends to a higher weight class. He admitted that he had hoped for another encounter with Pereira but was equally content to face either Ulberg or Pereira for the title. Prochazka firmly stated his belief that other contenders had not earned a title shot, and he himself had done enough to reclaim what he considers "mine." He also conveyed his conviction that he would inevitably cross paths with Alex Pereira again in the future.
Shifting his focus to Ulberg, Prochazka articulated his preferred method of engagement: "I already chose the way I like to hunt Ulberg because he don’t like the pressure. He don’t like to be hunted. This is what I say to myself. I need to be that one who catches this guy. There is no other way to fight with him." He characterized Ulberg as a fast and proficient kickboxer, light on his feet, who tends to shy away from wrestling and ground work. Therefore, Prochazka’s strategy is clear: "pressure, pressure."
Regardless of the outcome, fans are undoubtedly eagerly anticipating Jiri Prochazka’s return to the octagon to compete once more.
